Milgauss : Rolex

Introduced by Rolex in 1956, the Milgauss was designed to meet the demands of the scientific community, specifically laboratory technicians at the North and South Pole who were surrounded by high magnetism. As a result, these watches feature an iron back and are capable of withstanding magnetic fields of up to 1,000 gauss, versus the more typical 70 gauss. It later became known as the watch worn by scientists at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva. As well as a classic steel bracelet and black dial, this pre-owned 2014 reference 116400GV features the rather quirky lightening second hand and green glass, which add interest and set it apart from other Rolexes.
