The first ever pilot watch was created by Louis Cartier in 1904 as a promise to his Brazilian friend Alberto Santos Dumont in order to tell the time whilst in flight. This iconic time piece features exposed screws on the stainless steel casing. The understated simplicity of the design has nothing to prove being the first of its kind.
